The responsible and ethical operation of every travel experience delivered, is of paramount importance to us at Island Adventures. A great degree of attention to detail is given to all facets of travel, starting with switching off engines when vehicles are idle in order to limit emissions, to ensuring that sustainable economic benefit is derived by the communities who come into contact with travellers. To this end, Island Adventures has developed an array of travel experiences which have integrated seamlessly with remote local communities. We have a selection of affiliate projects which provide travellers an opportunity to make a meaningful direct contribution via cash or kind to communities in need. The projects have been carefully hand-picked based on their credibility, transparency and proven track record. These experiences and involvement in projects leave travellers enriched with a deeper understanding of Sri Lankan culture, lifestyles and ecology, whilst the community and environment too enjoy economic growth and self-sustainability.
