Close to base,
or far afield.

Perhaps the most rewarding way to explore Sri Lanka: on a bike you ride through quiet fishing hamlets and mountain villages, not past them.

The possibilities are many. Spend half a day exploring the villages and forest trails around your base, or take on a challenging six to ten-day tour that spans the island or reaches from coast to coast.

How much support you have is up to you. Some tours include support vehicles and crew, mechanics and even physiotherapists; others only high-quality bikes, a route map and hotel reservations.

What’s possible

Quiet roads,
long views.

A few of the rides we love, and two ways to do them: on your own, or with a crew behind you.

01 · Village lanes

Villages & forest trails

Shaded lanes and cool forest tracks within easy reach of where you are staying, ridden in a morning or an afternoon.

Curving terraced paddy fields, banana palms and jungle edge seen from directly above

02 · Paddy country

Across the island

The dry-zone plains, the hills and both coasts linked in a single journey of six to ten days.

03 · Warm-up with the crew

Fully supported

A support vehicle close behind, a mechanic for running repairs and, on some tours, a physiotherapist at the end of the day.

Ride your own way

Prefer to ride independently? Set off with a quality bike and a route map, with each night’s hotel already booked.

Journey ideas

Three ways
to ride it.

Starting points, not set departures. Each one is reshaped around your dates, your group and how far you’d like to ride each day.

  1. 01Half a day

    Around your base

    Your base and back

Add a ride to any holiday: a guided loop from wherever you are staying, out along quiet village lanes and forest trails and back by lunchtime.

    • Paddy fields and village tanks along the way
    • High-quality bikes and a local guide
    • Flat and gentle, or a stiffer climb if you like
    • An early start, before the heat of the day

Kandy · Nuwara Eliya · Haputale · Ella

A week of long climbs and sweeping descents through the central hills, from Kandy up into the high country and down to Ella.
